Work at Home Dad , Teachers Husband

I have seen lots of folks posting about how teachers don't care about the children they teach and all they want is money and more time off blah blah blah.

Well I can tell you first hand that my wife spends a full work week looking after your kids , dealing with unruly behaviors and absent parents.

Then she comes home spends a few hours with her own kids and family and promptly gets back to work marking and looking after your kids again and making sure you have everything you need from her for your kids.

Tell me how many of you come home to just go back to work to look after someone else's 30 kids each day.

Now lets get on with report cards... They get no time during the work week to do them , all work is done at home over a crappy slow useless program that should have been scrapped 10 years ago. She spends 3 to 4 8 hour  days to complete report cards for all your children , each term we call it the daddy and girls days.....what do you 30 parents do for me and my kids?

Lets talk new contract... she\they don't care about a raise ( union does ). They don't want to be told where to work on a transfer.. oh you work 30 min from town as is and spend 100.00 a week in gas  now someone wants to be able to say ok now you go work here .. now you travel 4 hours to work and spend 250.00-300.00 dollars a week in gas or lose your job...or relocate...oh yes, lets all just sell our house , buy a new house, move everyone to just have them say next year, oh we are going to transfer you again....Anyone want that in their job security? You know how big a district is?

I could go on with the main points but as with all contracts , some good , some bad , some really bad and some just plain stupid by any standard, on both sides.

You ask why teach? Well someone has to and thank whoever you like, but people like my wife like to teach.

Rant and Rave all you want but until you live with a teacher you have no idea what they actually do, how much they care and what they have to put up with.
